My Verdict
I am pleased to say that the Lovense Ridge was pleasing to me. I think it's an amazing quality device that has some strong (fairly buzzy yet comfortable) vibrations to offer. The rotations, while subtle, were still very impressive to me. They took this toy to a whole new level. I think it would be great for prostate stimulation and I love that using it (with a condom) vaginally can help you enjoy some lovely hands-free g-spot massage as well. We love a good multi-purpose sex toy! The base is bit bulky so it's not super comfortable to sit on. It is quite short, though, so you can still enjoy some comfortable vaginal penetration while it's inserted. I’m definitely excited to use it more in my own pleasure journey and explore what else it has to offer!

Reviewing the Lovense Ridge
To Anal Bead or Not to Anal Bead
I was pleasantly surprised by the Lovense Ridge! I was a bit intimidated before I tested it out and had maybe procrastinated a little because my past experience with anal beads was a bit underwhelming. The “Beyblade”-style pulling the beads out during orgasm never really felt that satisfying to me either (not that I would *actually* pull them out “Beyblade”-style, don’t worry). The size of the last bead in the Lovense Ridge also played a factor. It just seemed a bit large. I felt like I had to wait the right moment to approach this nifty little device. Alas, when the right moment came, it left me wondering why I had even put it off in the first place! The size wasn’t that much of an issue at all. Yes, some patience and plenty of lube is required, but that’s just a given with safe anal play. It’s not super beginner-friendly at all, though. I definitely recommend having lots of warm-up and some experience with putting stuff up your bum.Twirling & Teasing
I actually had a grand old time with these vibrating and rotating anal beads. I enjoyed the sensations of the different features and found that it generally added some great stimulation to my usual solo sessions. I personally like that it’s just the top bead that rotates. Simply because I find it less intimidating! However, this also makes the stimulation a lot less prominent. At least for someone like me who doesn’t have a prostate. I’d say the Lovense Ridge is a pretty quiet toy. For something that is powerful, rotates and vibrates, it could have been much louder. Of course, if you’re in the same room you can definitely hear it but it’s not like your roommates or neighbors would be able to tell what you’re up to. It’s pretty discreet. Although, when in use, though, I felt like the sounds I was hearing wasn’t coming from the air around me, it was coming from inside my body! It’s actually something I’ve noticed about powerful anal vibrators in general.  Especially the sound of the rotations. I’m telling you, it felt like the call was coming from inside the house! Before I tried the Lovense Ridge out as anal beads, I also wanted to try it out vaginally. I wanted to see what the rotations felt like! And oh my goodness and I am glad I did. It feels amazing. I didn’t think such a beaded shaft would feel that good. Although, since it’s still pretty rigid and the last bead is fairly girthy, it felt really nice around the opening of the vagina. The vibrations felt really good and they were nice and powerful. But the rotations really add something new. Usually when I’m using a dildo on myself for g-spot stimulation, I’ll use a metal or glass dildo to achieve g-spot bliss. And even then it’s hard for me to hit all the right spots by myself. My arm also gets tired! I’ll usually have my partner help create some nice and fulfilling thrusts to assist me in this, but I think the rotations of the Lovense Ridge actually helped me achieve some nice hands-free g-spot stimulation. Sure, it’s not the most intense stimulation in the world BUT I’ve never experienced those kinds of sensation during solo sessions without having to put all the work in myself! I can definitely see myself slapping a condom on it once in a while to use it for some body-safe vaginal play! It’s a nice bonus that you can share it as a couple or have it as this multi-purpose sex toy for those who have both a vagina and anus.My Personal take on the design of the Lovense Ridge
I like the sleek and simple design of the Lovense Ridge. The tip is nice and tapered to help the first two beads slip in pretty comfortably. I like that the shaft itself is pretty firm. It’s quite rigid and doesn’t bend at all. Although, it doesn’t feel completely hard and unyielding like glass or metal. It’s firm but the silicone coating has a little bit of squish to it. The neck itself between the base of the toy and the shaft is actually pretty flexible! That’s quite nice, especially if you're wearing it during partnered sex. It’s nice that it’s not just on big rigid stick that’ll push into you with every thrust. I like that there’s a little bit of give to the shaft. The base is a little bulky. It’s not the most comfortable to sit down on. So, I don’t know if I recommend this for long-term wear. However, it’s not TOO bulky for partnered sex. You can definitely make that happen.
Unpacking the Usability of the Lovense Ridge
This thing was suprisingly easy to use. Since I'm already fairly experienced with anal play and anal toys, the Lovense Ridge was very approachable. The two buttons are also very easy to use once you know how to turn on the toy. The app control feature works beautifully. It was quite nice to use some of the pre-existing patterns on the Lovense Remote app. Syncing it to music was also great fun since there’s both rotations and vibrations to enjoy. The app connectivity was also very good! It was even better than my experience with the Lovense Quake!
Standout Quality or Shortcomings?
It's clear to see that the Lovense Ridge is a premium quality item. From the body-safe materials, the IPX7 waterproof level, the app compatibility, and the strong motors powering both the vibrations and rotations. Everything looks and feels like something of high quality.
The Price Point of Lovense Ridge: A Review
Yes, it’s expensive. Since I do think that Lovense products tend to be on the expensive side, I was kind of preparing myself to say that this product is too overpriced and maybe not worth the money. But after my experience with the Lovense Ridge, I actually think it’s worth saving up for. It’s not cheap but you’ll be getting your money’s worth, in my humble opinion. Especially if you're also able to use it for vaginal insertion!
Did the performance live up to the claims?
The intensity of the vibrations was nice and strong! They’re a little buzzy but not in a bad way. They’re powerful, feel really good, and don't leave you feeling numb. I do sometimes experience that some Lovense products offer more buzzy than rumbly vibrations. Luckily, because they’re still good quality items, these buzzy vibrations are not necessarily a con.

The packaging of the Lovense Ridge is very similar to all other packaging from Lovense. It comes it a simple white box with some neutral images. The contents include a small manual, a black satin-like storage bag, and a charging cord. Simple and straightforward!
Material and care guide
Since the Lovense Ridge is made of silicone and is IPX7 waterproof, it's a breeze to clean! Simply run it under the tap in warm water to rinse, lather it up with sex toy cleaner or a mild soap, and rinse again. Once completely dry, pop it in the storage bag until you're ready to use it next time. Keep the toy away from extreme heat or cold during storage (and use). To maintain the battery properly, Lovense recommends you make sure to charge your toys at least every 6 months.
