How I Rated These Kegel Balls
I looked at the value for money, product quality, design, ease of use, and a few other factors when rating these kegel balls for women.
Having no personal experience with these products myself, I first referred to reviews from fellow Bedbible writers for information. After that, I considered customer feedback and even looked at available manufacturer information to make a complete assessment.
By sourcing information from multiple places and using a standardized rating system to compare products, I’ve managed to write as unbiased of a summary comparison as possible for these products.
I recommend reading all the way through before making a selection though, as each one has its own unique pros and cons!
How do Kegel Balls Work?
Kegel balls, also known as vaginal beads or Ben Wa balls, use weight to apply resistance against the pelvic floor. For this process, the balls are inserted inside the vagina and held in place by the pelvic floor muscles.
By changing the weight, a person is able to increase or decrease the resistance, allowing them to strength-train their pelvic floor muscles. Training approaches vary. While some users only wear them for a few minutes at a time, others wear them for hours daily.
Things to Know Before Using Kegel Balls
Even if you’re ready to start using kegel balls for tightening your pelvic floor right away, there are a few things you’ll want to know before you begin.
Firstly, kegel ball exercises aren’t recommended for everyone. You should avoid using them while pregnant or when recovering from pregnancy.
When in doubt, you should check with your doctor to ensure that you can safely use kegel balls.
Like any other sex toy, it’s important to only use toys made from body-safe materials. You’ll also need to select a weight & size that’s suitable for you.
Always make sure to sufficiently clean your kegel balls between use. If not, you may end up with an infection.
Lastly, avoid working too hard. Overusing kegel balls can lead to fatigue, discomfort, pain, and even vaginal tearing! Once again, when in doubt, check in with your doctor to avoid any issues.
Reviews of the 9 best kegel balls
Best Kegel Balls Lelo Luna Pleasure Bead System
First up is a product from a premium brand, the Lelo Luna Pleasure Bead System!
Designed for discreet use and coming complete with a satin carry pouch, this set of kegel toys comes with two weights of balls to help you in your pelvic floor strength training.
The pink vaginal balls weigh one ounce each; the blue balls weigh 1.3 ounces a piece.
Made of silicone and fit with a pull cord that makes for struggle-free removal, these kegel balls for women are the perfect introduction for first-time users.
If you’ve never bought kegel balls before but want to start off strong then picking up a set of the Lelo Luna Pleasure Bead System is a great way to go!
Pros
- ✅ Cute aesthetic
- ✅ Different weights
- ✅ Practically silent internal weights
- ✅ Includes four balls
Cons
- ❌ Expensive
- ❌ Learning curve
- ❌ Awkward insertion process
- ❌ Cheap appearance for the price
Verdict
Out of all of the products on this list, I ended up choosing the Lelo Luna Pleasure Bead System as the “Test Winner”. With that in mind, let’s start with the negatives first before moving on to the positive points.
Although these kegel balls have a cute appearance to them, they do look somewhat cheap. With a price tag of over $60, I think most people would expect something that looks a bit more “premium” for the price.
If you’ve never used this type of toy before then there is a slight learning curve. To be fair, you’ll have to deal with this regardless of which kegel balls you end up choosing, but it’s still something you should keep in mind.
Now, onto the positives!
Being made of silicone, these balls are completely body-safe. The kit comes with two different weights of balls, which helps make it seem more approachable to complete beginners.
Lastly, the set includes a satin storage pouch, which helps you keep track of the balls while also making travel more manageable.
Overall, I think these kegel balls are a solid option for first-timers and beginners. While they don’t offer the weight that you can get from more advanced sets, you do get a high level of quality (despite their relatively cheap-looking appearance).

Best Kegel Exerciser Elvie Pelvic Floor Trainer
If you seek to improve your pelvic floor with proper guidance, the Elvie trainer is a perfect match! Connecting Elvie to the app enables the feedback feature, as well as specialized programs for beginner, intermediate, and advanced user levels.
The Elvie trainer has a unique ergonomic shape that should fit most vaginas comfortably. It’s a great option for individuals looking for an effective way to improve their pelvic floor. The visuals on the app are designed as a gem, and as you contract and relax, the gem should move by the criteria of the selected workout program.
The Elvie Trainer really is a high-tech kegel exercise machine!
Pros
- ✅ Real-time feedback
- ✅ Helps keep you motivated
- ✅ Keeps track of your progress
- ✅ Easy to use
- ✅ Discreet, stylish charging case
Cons
- ❌ Doesn't work with Huawei phones
- ❌ Expensive
Verdict
The Elvie pelvic floor trainer is our test winner for a reason! Real-time feedback, records of your sessions and improvements, and an additional cover should the Elvie shape not match your vagina.
As for ease of use, I ranked it 90. The only reason it isn’t a 100, is that it requires interest and some level of comfortability in using Smartphone enabled products.
If you’re unsure about starting your pelvic floor strengthening journey, the Elvie trainer might be an expensive experiment. However, if you’re sure, I’d really recommend this. You’ll receive training reminders on the app, a beginner’s guide, and comprehensive information on correct movements.
It really is one of the best electric kegel exercisers, and is definitely a step up from regular Ben Wa Balls!

Cheapest Lovehoney Heavy Double Kegel Balls
If the previous vaginal balls weren’t heavy enough for you then perhaps this next offering will be more your style. Introducing, the Lovehoney Heavy Double Kegel Balls!
With a total weight of 3.2 ounces, these high-quality vaginal balls will make their presence known.
The balls are completely connected by their silicone covering, meaning—not only are they body-safe—that there’s no risk of losing one.
With a diameter of 1.43, these balls are somewhat thick but still easy enough to insert inside with sufficient lubrication.
Complete with free-roaming internal weights for added stimulation, the Lovehoney Heavy Double Kegel Balls are perfect for extended wear and daily use!
Pros
- ✅ Easy to use
- ✅ One-piece design
- ✅ Affordably priced
- ✅ 3.2 oz total weight
Cons
- ❌ Only offered in one color
- ❌ Hard to feel internal jiggle
Verdict
At less than $20, these vaginal beads easily earned the “Cheapest” mention on this list. Although they’re by no means perfect, these balls are the perfect kegel balls for tightening and training your pelvic floor.
Thanks to a completely-connected design, you won’t need to worry about accidentally losing a kegel ball inside of you when performing kegel ball exercises. Each ball contains internal weights, which—in theory—provide extra stimulation.
However, feedback on the internal weights has been mixed. While some people find them to work well, others mention that they could barely notice a difference.
Still, these are a budget-friendly option, and they work well considering the price. With a convenient retrieval cord for worry-free use and a completely waterproof design for painless cleaning, these balls are a great option for anyone in search of kegel balls on a budget.

Beginner Fifty Shades of Grey Inner Goddess Mini Silver Pleasure Balls
Did you love reading Fifty Shades of Grey, perhaps so much so that you’ve decided to pick up your own set of kegel balls?
Well, if that’s the case then the Fifty Shades of Grey Inner Goddess Mini Silver Pleasure Balls are the ones for you!
These kegel balls for women are made from a combination of stainless steel and silicone, making them completely body-safe and super easy to clean! The metal gives the kegel balls a delicious weight of 3 ounces. This makes them great for providing some extra internal stimulation if you wear them as you go about your day!
These easy-to-use kegel balls are sized with the beginner in mind, since you can use them for long-term wear, as well as daily kegel training for anyone who’s looking for a more weighted pelvic floor training
Complete with a branded bag for simplified storage and offered for less than $30, bring your favorite erotica to life with the Inner Goddess Mini Silver Pleasure Balls!
Pros
- ✅ Slightly weighted metal balls
- ✅ Easy to clean
- ✅ Can easily be sterilized
- ✅ Storage bag included
Cons
- ❌ The weight of the balls may not be suited for complete beginners
Verdict
Being extremely easy to use, these vaginal balls ended up being my “Beginner” pick. While most kegel toys are relatively straightforward to use, these particular vaginal beads are sized and weighted with the beginner in mind.
Branding is pretty much all over this product, both on the bag and on the tag of the beads themselves. If you don’t mind showing your love for the franchise then this isn’t an issue. However, if you’re trying to store these subtly then that might pose a problem. Although, points for including a nice storage bag! This protects them from any scracthes and makes them very travel-friendly!
Aside from the branding, everything is exactly what you’d expect. The beads are securely attached to the silicone strings, making it extremely unlikely that you’ll ever lose a bead. The materials even allow you to clean them very easily. You can also sterilize them in boiling water for a few minutes!
Paired with a high level of build quality, you can feel confident when using these balls. Removal is also a breeze, thanks to the large metal tag at the end of the string. Simply put your finger in the loop and pull slowly – of course, the metal tab might not be the most comfortable to wear in your underwear as you go about your day.
All things considered, I’d recommend these kegel balls for beginners. As long as the Fifty Shades of Grey branding doesn’t bother you, you’re sure to enjoy using the Fifty Shades of Grey Inner Goddess Mini Silver Pleasure Balls!
App-Controlled We-Vibe Bloom Silicone Vibrating Kegel Balls
This next pick is a bit more expensive than most kegel balls, but you just might find the price increase worthwhile.
Chances are, you’ve heard of We-Vibe. Now, check out the We-Vibe Bloom! A pair of luxury, app-controlled vibrating kegel balls!
Even with vibrating models, many kegel balls for women only offer a small variety of pre-installed options.
While the We-Vibe Bloom does have ten vibration modes built in, you can completely customize the experience to your liking using the We-Vibe app! I’ve always been a fan of how you can explore endless speeds and patterns when using the app.
Controllable via button, Bluetooth, or over wifi, the We-Vibe Bloom even allows you to control the toy from halfway across the world.
Whether you want to take the controls yourself or hand them over to your partner, the We-Vibe Bloom offers a plethora of ways to make kegel training more exciting!
Pros
- ✅ Long battery life
- ✅ App-controlled
- ✅ Comes with three different weight options
- ✅ Made of 100% body-safe silicone
- ✅ Quiet
Cons
- ❌ On the more expensive side
- ❌ App connectivity can be unreliable
- ❌ Shorter battery life
- ❌ May be too rigid for some
Verdict
As my “App-Controlled” pick, you already know these vibrating kegel balls can be controlled via the app. However, using the app isn’t the only way you can enjoy these vaginal beads.
The device has a button on the bottom which can be used to cycle through ten modes. You can locally control the toy through the app via Bluetooth, or enable long-distance controls for partner play via wifi.
These features are great, but any app-related features rely entirely on the app. Reviews of the app have been mixed in the past, so it’s hard to predict how well these features will work for you. I personally did experience that the app connectivity was a bit unstable at times. Of course, when it was connected, it worked beautifully.
Physically, the We-Vibe Bloom has a very unique design. The second ball is completely detachable, allowing you to choose from the three included weighted balls. With weights ranging from 0.35 ounces to 1.6 punches, this selection means you can use this toy for a while as you slowly strengthen your pelvic floor.
The main issue with these vaginal beads is the price. That said, considering they include three different weighted balls and offer a ton of vibration modes and long-distance play, I’d argue it’s worth the asking price.
While I definitely wouldn’t recommend these to anyone on a budget, if you’re looking for the most customizable experience around, the We-Vibe Bloom is what you’ll want!

Vibrating Rechargeable Silicone Vibrating Dual Kegel Balls
Next on my list of kegel balls for tightening your vagina & strengthening your pelvic floor are the Rechargeable Silicone Vibrating Dual Kegel Balls.
Designed to be beginner-friendly and easy to use, these balls are USB rechargeable and offer 12 different vibration functions for you to experiment with.
Of course, you can also use them for regular kegel ball exercises as well. However, if you decide you want to spice things up, these CalExotics balls are there to help.
Complete with a memory function to pick up where you left off and a travel lock for worry-free transportation, these vibrating kegel balls are worth adding to your collection of kegel toys!
Pros
- ✅ Fairly priced
- ✅ USB rechargeable
- ✅ Splash-proof design
- ✅ Made of silicone
Cons
- ❌ Only offered in one size
- ❌ Short battery life
- ❌ Balls are very close together
- ❌ No storage bag
Vibrations:
Verdict
These vibrating vaginal beads are well-designed. Not only do they offer 12 different vibrations modes, but they also have a travel lock and a simple push-button control.
The battery lasts between 30 to 40 minutes, which isn’t bad. Charging only takes 45 minutes, so the charge-to-use ratio is fairly even.
Physically, however, these balls may not be up to everyone’s standards. The balls are a bit closer together than you’ll find on other models, which—depending on your preferences—may be either a plus or a minus.
Still, the toy is made of high-quality silicone and ABS, making it safe for internal use. Although the toy isn’t completely waterproof, being splashproof should be enough for most situations.
These kegel balls are an easy recommendation for beginners who want balls that vibrate. However, experienced users may want to look at other options, as these balls are only offered with a width of 1.25”.

Glass Lovehoney Sensual Glass Blossom Ben Wa Balls
These smooth glass Ben Wa balls from Lovehoney are both pretty and practical!
The beautiful blooming design adds some elegance to work out, while the smooth glass helps with easy insertion.
At 1.3oz each, you can choose between using one ball or combining them for a heavier weight. The free-roaming design means they are best suited to those with a little more experience of Ben Wa balls.
Pros
- ✅ Heavier weight for more advanced training
- ✅ Smooth glass is easy to insert
- ✅ Can be heated or cooled for temperature
- ✅ Beautiful design
Cons
- ❌ Lack of string can make removal tricky
- ❌ Can be too heavy for beginners
Verdict
Firstly, how beautiful are these Ben Wa balls? Just the look alone would motivate me to use them!
While you might be a little scared of using glass sex toys, these are borosilicate glass, which is incredibly strong and can even be warmed or cooled before use. This means that not only can you use these as weighted vagina balls but also for some fun temperature play! Pop them in cool water before use for some thrilling tingly sensations or warm water for a more sensual feel.
The lack of removal cord won’t suit everyone, and while there’s nowhere for them to get lost as the vagina has a natural end point, removal can be a little trickier than with a cord.
The smooth glass can also be more of a challenge to hold in as there is very little friction, so I would recommend these for those who are a little more experienced with Ben Wa balls.

Pros
- ✅ 6 different weights, 50-130g
- ✅ Covered in smooth, body-safe silicone
- ✅ Discreet storage case
- ✅ Color-coded weight system
- ✅ Silicone cord for easy removal
Cons
- ❌ Shape might not suit all tastes
- ❌ Expensive

This is a top quality set of Kegel weights! The combination of great materials, simple but effective design and large range of weights makes this the perfect choice for anyone who looking for a complete training program.
The graded color-coded system make it easy to find the right weight and the storage case is a really nice touch.
Of all the Ben Wa balls in this review, these are much more aimed at people looking for pelvic floor training rather than sexual stimulation.

Tracey Cox Supersex Kegel Toner Balls
Lastly, we have the Tracey Cox Supersex Kegel Toner Balls. Simple but effective, these silicone vaginal balls will be the perfect addition to your kegel exercise routine.
Being silicone, these kegel toys are completely waterproof, meaning you can use them wherever you’d like without the risk of damaging them.
Thanks to the combined weight of 2.8 ounces and a diameter of 1.43 inches, both beginners and intermediate users alike will find these balls sized to their liking.
Even better, the internal free-roaming balls will move around as you move wearing the kegel balls, adding another level of stimulation to the experience.
If you need affordable, quality kegel balls then the Tracey Cox Supersex Kegel Toner Balls are a set you can rely on!
Pros
- ✅ Made of silicone
- ✅ Free-roaming internal weights
- ✅ Completely waterproof
- ✅ Includes storage bag
Cons
- ❌ Only one weight offered
- ❌ Only one size offered
- ❌ No color options
Verdict
Although they weren’t placed in any particular category, I figured I’d include the Tracey Cox Supersex Kegel Toner Balls as an honorable mention. They’re fairly basic, but—as kegel balls for tightening—they get the job done in a cost-effective manner.
Unlike some of the other options, this string does allow you to remove the balls for easier cleaning. While this does slightly increase the risk of a ball coming loose during kegel ball exercises, that’s fairly unlike due to the shape of the holders.
Being made from silicone, you won’t be able to use these balls with a silicone lube. However, this gives them the advantage of being non-porous and completely body-safe, so I think the trade-off is worth it.
All in all, I’d recommend these to someone who’s already started kegel training (as the 1.43 diameter may be too big for complete beginners).

The Basics of Pelvic Floor Health
Your pelvic floor supports your bladder, urethra, and intestines. Playing such a critical role in everyday life, it’s important that you pay close attention to your pelvic floor health!
Having bad pelvic floor health can cause a number of different issues, including sexual, flatulence, and urination issues.
Fortunately, by using weighted vaginal beads, vibrating kegel balls, or by doing basic kegel exercises, you can improve your pelvic floor health with minimal effort.
Different Types of Ben Wa Balls
Ben Wa balls are known by many different names and there are some small differences between them, although the names are often used interchangeably. It’s not exactly clear where the name ‘Ben Wa’ came from, but several sources claim that the name was invented to sound Japanese while still being easy enough to pronounce and remember in Western society.
Here are the main types of Ben Wa balls to help you choose the best one for you:
- Jiggle balls — Jiggle balls have free rolling weights inside that rock and roll as you move, providing some subtle stimulation. These are great if you want to wear your balls as a little sexy secret during the day or a date night.
- Kegel weights — These are more aimed at exercising the pelvic floor and often come in a set with multiple different weights for you to progress through.
- Kegel exercisers — These app-enabled Kegel trainers connect to your phone to give you bio feedback as you squeeze and release your pelvic floor muscles. They also provide personalised training programmes according to your abilities and some are even gamified.
- Vibrating Kegel balls — If you want some added pleasure with your pelvic floor workout, vibrating Kegel balls are the way to go! If they are app or remote controlled, they are also great for some discreet public play.
What to Look For in Ben Wa Balls
Next up I’ve got my top tips on how to choose the best Ben Wa balls for you!
Always look for safe materials
As Ben Wa balls are sitting inside you for a considerable amount of time, it’s super important to make sure they are made of body safe materials that are non-porous and non-toxic.
Here are the best materials for Ben Wa Balls:
- Silicone
- Borosilicate glass
- Stainless steel
- ABS plastic
Choose the right weight
If you are just getting started with Ben Wa balls, it’s best to go for a lower weight — 20g – 40g. You can then progress onto heavier weights as you build more strength.
Find the right size
As well as looking for a suitable weight, you need to consider the size of the balls.
Bigger balls are easier to grip onto, whereas smaller balls are more difficult, providing a more intense training, especially if they are heavy.
You also want to make sure the ball is not so big that it feels uncomfortable or painful.
Do you want added stimulation?
If you want added stimulation, you should look for vibrating Ben Wa balls or ones with rolling weights inside that move as you walk.
Remote or app control
If your Ben Wa balls have vibrations, you should also think about whether you want a remote control or app-control option. This can make it easier to change the settings while in use and allow you to enjoy discreet public play!
Easy removal loop
If you want to be able to remove your Ben Wa balls easily or are worried about them getting stuck, go for ones with a loop handle for easy removal. This is also the best option for beginners.
You should always make sure the removal cord is also made of non-toxic, non-porous materials, like silicone.
What to avoid
- Never buy Ben Wa balls made of porous materials. They provide the perfect breeding ground for bacteria.
- Avoid materials that contain harmful substances, such as phthalates.
- Don’t be tempted to straight for a heavy weight, as you might find that it simply slips out and you are not able to use it.
Do Ben Wa Balls Make You Tighter?
One of the reported benefit of Kegel balls is that they can make your vaginal canal feel tighter. There is a lot of anecdotal evidence from vulva owners who report feeling tighter after training with weighted weighted vagina balls. While they don’t actually shrink your vagina in any way, strengthening the pelvic floor muscles can lead to a tighter feel.
There is still some debate about whether Ben Wa balls or Kegel balls are the most effective way to train your pelvic floor. Here are some things to keep in mind if you Kegel ball exercises to train your pelvic floor.
Correctly identify your pelvic floor muscles
Many people are not used to activating their pelvic floor muscles so it’s super important to learn how to correctly identify your pelvic floor and how to engage it.
These are the muscles you squeeze when trying to stop the flow of urine, although you should not practice by doing this, as it can create bad urinary habits. Instead of actually doing this while you pee, just imagine doing it. You should feel a tightening and lifting sensation in the muscles between your vagina and anus.
You should avoid tensing the surrounding muscles of your thighs, butt cheeks, and stomach.
Tense and relax
Like any good exercise, Kegel exercises, whether freestyle or with weighted vagina balls, should involve tensing and relaxing the muscles.
Only tensing the muscles can lead to muscle fatigue and damage.
You shouldn't leave them in for too long
Contrary to what you hear, it’s not a good idea to leave Ben Wa balls in all day as this can overwork your pelvic floor muscles. It’s best to start with shorter amounts of time on a regular basis.
You might not need to strengthen your pelvic floor
Not everyone should do Kegels! Some people already have a hypertoned pelvic floor and doing more exercise can exacerbate the problem. If you have any issues with sexual function or incontinence, it’s always best to see a doctor before trying pelvic floor exercises of any kind.
Can Ben Wa Balls Make You Orgasm?
This definitely differs from person to person, but simple Ben Wa balls are not necessarily designed to make you orgasm. Most are designed to help you exercise your pelvic floor or provide subtle stimulation as you move around, which can help build arousal.
That being said, some people can and do experience orgasm when using Ben Wa balls. It could also be partly due to the tensing and relaxing of your pelvic floor muscles, the slow building arousal, the psychological element of wearing them, or likely a combination of all three.
Vibrating Kegel balls can also increase the pleasure you feel from using them and increase your chances of having an orgasm.
So yes, Ben Wa balls can be stimulating and even lead to an orgasm for some people, but, if you are looking for a sex toy that takes the express route to O town, I wouldn’t recommend Ben Wa balls. Instead, I would recommend a dildo, vibrator, or clit sucker as they provide the intense stimulation that most people need.
